Bacteria

CGSC E. coli Database and Stock Center
http://cgsc.biology.yale.edu/
The CGSC Database of E.coli genetic information includes genotypes and reference information for the strains in the CGSC collection, gene names, properties, and linkage map, gene product information, and information on specific mutations.

EcoCyc Encyclopedia of E. coli Genes and Metabolism
http://biocyc.org/ecocyc/index.shtml
EcoCyc is an electronic reference source for E. coli biologists, and for biologists who work with related microorganisms.

Saccharomyces Genome Database
http://genome-www.stanford.edu/Saccharomyces/
SGD is a scientific database of the molecular biology and genetics of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is commonly known as baker's or budding yeast.

Invertebrates

C. Elegans Sequencing Project and WormBase
http://www.sanger.ac.uk/Projects/C_elegans/
The C. elegans sequencing project is a collaboration between the Sanger Institute, Hinxton, Cambridge and the Genome Sequencing Center at the Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. WormBase is a part of this project.

FlyBase
http://flybase.bio.indiana.edu/
FlyBase is a database of the Drosophila genome.

GDB: Human Genome Database
http://gdbwww.gdb.org/
GDB is the official central repository for genomic mapping data resulting from the Human Genome Initiative.

MGI: Mouse Genome Informatics
http://www.informatics.jax.org/
Mouse Genome Informatics (MGI) provides integrated access to data on the genetics, genomics, and biology of the laboratory mouse.

ARKdb: Domesticated Animal Genomes
http://www.thearkdb.org/arkdb/
The ARKdb database system provides comprehensive public repositories for genome mapping data from farmed and other animal species, providing a resource similar in function to that offered by GDB or MGD for human or mouse mapping data respectively.

Other Resources

euGenes: Eukaryotic Genes
http://iubio.bio.indiana.edu:8089/
euGenes provides a common summary of gene and genomic information from eukaryotic organism databases. This includes gene symbol and full name; chromosome, genetic and molecular map information; gene product information (function, structure, and homologies); and links to extended gene information.

Gene Ontology Consortium
http://www.geneontology.org/
The goal of the Gene Ontology Consortium is to produce a dynamic controlled vocabulary that can be applied to all organisms even as knowledge of gene and protein roles in cells is accumulating and changing.
